Job position: Research associate

Requirement: Phd. Degree or Phd. Candidate in optical imaging.

A full-time research associate position in optical imaging is available at Louisianan State University, School of Medicine starting ASAP. The primary purpose of this position will be for a highly motivated individual to develop advanced optical imaging instruments for blood profusion measurement.

Qualification: Ph.D or Ph.D candidate in optical imaging or biomedical imaging. Strong skills in electrical design (including FPGA, CPLD etc.) are necessary, and skills in optical instrument design, optical fabrication and optical metrology are preferred. Hands-on experience with optical and electronic instrumentation such as, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) or telescope etc., is expected, as well as an excellent publication record and communication skills.

The candidate is expected to work the following research areas:

1. Hardware design of the high speed Data Processing Unit (DPU) using FPGA, CPLD or ARM;

2. Design the interface between camera, DPU and computer;

3. Build the prototype system.
